Design Manager - Health Care & Social Infrastructure

Join our team as a Design Manager - Health Care & Social Infrastructure at GHD.

Due to growth in our Health Care and Social Infrastructure practice, we are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to lead multidisciplinary project delivery for healthcare and social infrastructure projects, based out of any of our GTA offices (Waterloo, Toronto, Mississauga, Markham, Whitby).

Key Responsibilities include:

• Managing project delivery to produce compliant, constructible designs following client, operation, maintenance, and construction requirements.
• Ensuring design quality according to engineering processes and GHD standards.
• Coordinating Quality Control of all project deliverables.
• Developing and verifying project scope, providing pricing during proposals, and work planning post-award.
• Collaborating on project schedules, managing budgets, and overseeing change control processes.
• Leading design work plans, coordinating interdisciplinary meetings, and resolving design issues during construction.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 10+ years of design management experience on large-scale healthcare and social infrastructure projects within Canada.
• Technical expertise in clinical design, hospital regulations, and healthcare facility planning.
• Experience with BIM, IPD, and EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
• Knowledge of Ontario healthcare planning, clinical workflows, and patient care pathways.
• Certification in Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and budgeting skills.
