Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a talented Design Manager, Airports/Aviation to join our team! In this role you will get to work on a top US airport in Houston, TX.

Key experience or attributes required:

1. Monitor Design Consultant contract requirements against deliverables.
2. Coordinate project governance design presentations and input.
3. Manage scope of each design submittal package.
4. Develop and recommend cost reduction initiatives when necessary to stay in budget.
5. Facilitate responses to RFI’s between the project team and Design Consultant.
6. Coordinate and schedule design workshops between Design Consultant, HAS and other stakeholders.
7. Support the design to budget process including evaluation of technical design alternatives.
8. Support the Project Manager to coordinate, schedule, and assist with constructability reviews during all phases of design.
9. Document design-related issues, decisions, and actions within HAS Document Control System and manage to resolution.
10. Coordinate and schedule design review meetings and consolidate input from stakeholders, including any third-party reviewers. Coordinate design feedback to Design Consultant.
11. Conduct design review sessions with stakeholders and oversee design feedback input.
12. Work with the HAS Sustainability Manager to monitor and track sustainability plan development and LEED component tracking in coordination with Design Consultant.
13. Confirm all resolved design issues have been incorporated into design submittal packages.
14. Coordinate reviews of submittals/shop drawings from HAS project stakeholders, including subject matter experts, airport operations, and project team.
15. Work with the HAS Commissioning Manager to support start-up and commissioning efforts as necessary including witnessing performance testing.
16. Support project close-out activities related to Design Consultant obligations and deliverables.
17. Support HAS on the implementation of the procurement strategy and plan.
18. Support HAS on the implementation of the contract strategy.
19. Develop the scope and selection criteria. Support Houston Airport System procurement as required.
20. Verify all project level designs follow codes and standards.
21. Verify all project level designs follow regulatory and environmental requirements.
22. Establish, implement and maintain the CADD and BIM framework, environment, policy and procedures.

Qualifications:

1. Must have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Architecture or Engineering.
2. Overall working knowledge of the architectural, engineering, and systems elements of airports infrastructure and supporting facilities.
3. Demonstrable establishment of collaborative relationships with stakeholders involved in planning, design, and construction of airport facilities (airport, community and government).
4. Minimum 10 years of experience in the management of project design including significant time at large airports.
5. Experience in the design development of new/expanded facilities while maintaining operations.
6. Professional registration is required at this level. Must be licensed in the State of Texas or must be able to acquire license within six (6) months.

Salary Range: $120,800.00 - $231,700.00
