We are currently seeking a Design Leader to join our growing Commercial Division.

The Design Leader will report directly to a Senior Manager with extensive experience in our Commercial Division and will collaborate with team members who possess strong industry knowledge.

Design for commercial buildings focuses on creating optimal environments for people-centric spaces. HH Angus established a specialized division for tenant work nearly forty years ago to meet the fast-paced demands of the commercial fitout sector. Our in-house designers and engineers understand the priorities of commercial clients and the importance of speed-to-market. Our success in this market stems from responding quickly, providing comprehensive client support, delivering sustainable solutions, and maintaining a focus on the client's peace of mind.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as a recognized technical subject matter expert within the organization.
  • Completing major project components with high technical complexity.
  • Leading design efforts on complex technical projects and supporting project management activities related to the design work stream.
  • Communicating with clients, especially at senior levels, to determine design requirements and resolve issues.
  • Conducting peer reviews of work by other designers, particularly for complex designs.
  • Ensuring technical accuracy of all design deliverables.
  • Taking accountability for all designs through to construction completion.
  • Performing other duties as required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • A college diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • Preferably, 10 years of experience in engineering consulting.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • A forward-thinking attitude, eagerness to learn best practices, and contribution of innovative ideas.
  • Strong accuracy and documentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • A passion for buildings and the built environment.
