The Design Systems Lead will join a Global Design group that contributes to a range of product and strategic initiatives by participating in every aspect of the design process, from discovery and ideation to prototyping, testing, iterating, and product launch. The position is based in Toronto and may require some international travel to other Citco locations. The Design Systems Lead will report to the Design Director and interact with business stakeholders and technical groups.

Responsibilities

Your role :

• Lead the implementation of a new Design System for Citco's customer and employee-facing digital experiences.
• Become an authority on Citco's design language, setting standards for our design system and embedding systems thinking within Citco's design practice.
• Lead the design of scalable, reusable front-end UI components to be shared across the Citco ecosystem.
• Incorporate input from the Creative Director on the aesthetic direction and style guide for the Design System.
• Create, define, and maintain the governance model and documentation for the Design System.
• Design, test, and document UI components, experience patterns, and design tokens.
• Consult on various design engagements to ensure consistency across experiences.
• Liaise with design system champions across regions to ensure adoption, growth, and compliance.
• Collaborate with CX, Product, and Platform Managers to align design system updates with feature needs.
• Support a design pod and assist designers in the creative process to ensure alignment with product development.

Qualifications

About You :

• Bachelor's degree, relevant experience, or certifications in a related area.
• At least 5 years of experience in digital product or systems design as an individual contributor.
• At least 2 years of experience leading and maintaining a design system.
• Experience with Material Design and MUI.
• Proven experience building and maintaining complex design systems from scratch.
• Experience working as part of or leading a successful team/project in a hybrid environment.
• Strong communication skills to build relationships across departments.
• Attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize progress over perfection when needed.
• Ability to advise and influence stakeholders through reasoning.
