Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a talented Design Interface Manager – Wet Utilities to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in the successful integration of utility systems across complex airport infrastructure projects.

This role requires a technically proficient and proactive professional capable of resolving multidiscipline interface challenges while ensuring design compliance, constructability, and stakeholder satisfaction.

What You'll Be Doing:
  1. Act as the primary contact for all design interfaces related to wet utilities (potable water, TSE, sewerage, stormwater).
  2. Coordinate with design consultants, engineering teams, and package leads to identify, track, and resolve all wet utility interfaces.
  3. Review and validate design submissions to ensure compatibility with adjacent systems (e.g., roadworks, structures, MEP, airfield services).
  4. Ensure designs meet project specifications, authority requirements, and industry standards.
  5. Liaise with local authorities to obtain design NOCs and resolve external interface issues.
  6. Support permitting teams to ensure timely approvals.
  7. Maintain a comprehensive interface register for all wet utility systems.
  8. Identify, assess, and manage interface-related risks, proactively driving resolution strategies.
  9. Assess the impact of design changes from interfacing packages on wet utility systems and recommend mitigation measures.
  10. Review, approve, and communicate changes across relevant teams.
  11. Lead regular interface coordination meetings with stakeholders.
  12. Provide progress updates, highlight interface risks, and maintain accurate documentation.
  13. Assist construction teams by clarifying design intent, resolving conflicts, and coordinating utility connections and diversions.
  14. Ensure a seamless transition from design to construction and support design validation in the field.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree is a plus.
  • At least 15 years of experience in infrastructure or utility design, including 5+ years in interface or coordination roles.
  • Proven experience in large infrastructure or airport projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of wet utility systems.
  • Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with design standards (e.g., ASHRAE, AWWA, local codes).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS platforms.
  • Strong communication, report writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with airport infrastructure or large multi-package programs.
  • Experience working with GCC utility authorities (e.g., NWC, SWCC, municipalities).
  • Knowledge of project delivery methods (EPC, D&B) and BIM coordination.
  • Familiarity with document control systems like Aconex.
  • PMP or equivalent certification is advantageous.
