Job description

Nissha Medical Technologies is seeking a Design Engineer II with a focus on Electrical Engineering or Electronics to join our Engineering Team in Wolcott, CT.

The primary responsibility is to contribute to the design and development of Medical Device products based on customer requirements. These may involve mechanical or electromechanical systems, with a focus on electronics, PCB technologies, Flex circuits, and PCBA/Flex Circuit quality standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

• Follow all employee guidelines and Quality System Regulations (QSRs) to meet customer and FDA (or equivalent) requirements.
• Develop product specifications from customer requirements.
• Conceptualize and design product solutions, potentially integrating principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, and electrical/software components.
• Perform engineering analyses to verify design concepts.
• Design detailed components and assemblies using CAD, considering manufacturability and material selection.
• Create detailed drawings and identify suppliers for prototype components.
• Build and evaluate prototypes, performing debugging and testing.
• Develop testing protocols and verification reports.
• Develop assembly procedures and modify production equipment as needed.
• Research and develop manufacturing processes; design and verify assembly fixtures.
• Identify and verify quality criteria, validate production equipment and processes.
• Support risk management processes and train production personnel.
• Maintain lab equipment and space, attend educational workshops, and stay current with professional knowledge.
• Communicate professionally with customers and suppliers.
• Develop Master Validation plans and lead process validations.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Biomedical, Aeronautical, Electrical) with a minor in Electronic Technology or Electrical Engineering.
• 3-5 years of design experience preferred; internships considered.
• Strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, and circuit design tools like Altium.
• Knowledge of dimensioning standards (ASME Y14.5), engineering statistics, and IEC60601-1-1 standards is preferred.
• Experience with mechanical and electronic component design, testing, and validation.
• Ability to perform manual assembly and use basic machine shop equipment.
• Understanding of 21 CFR 820/ISO13485 Design Controls and Process Validation.

Compensation: $85,000-$95,000 annually, based on experience and skills.
