Your Role:

Tetra Tech is actively seeking a Design Engineer based out of our client’s site in Tiverton, Ontario. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and review engineering designs for engineering systems, structures, and components belonging to Nuclear Generating Stations.
  2. Prepare and review design calculations, technical specifications, and engineering drawings; make changes to the engineering design as needed.
  3. Determine solutions for design issues by working with team members and interfacing with applicable stakeholders.
  4. Work to develop and meet engineering project schedules and budgets.
  5. Coordinate design work with other project team members and other disciplines.
  6. Perform engineering work in accordance with nuclear Engineering Change Control (ECC) process using client software as a digital platform/database.
  7. Communicate and oversee design work with design agencies as well as manufacturers and suppliers.
  8. Initiate and identify regulatory reviews in accordance with the operating license.
  9. Specify technical and design requirements, as well as requirements for commissioning, installation, etc.
  10. Other responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
  1. Completion of a four-year University Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural, or Nuclear).
  2. Must be registered or willing to register with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Engineer in Training (EIT) actively working towards a P.Eng License.
  3. 4+ years of experience in a design engineering role is considered an asset.
  4. Must be able to obtain Federal security clearance.
  5. Must hold valid G2/G class driver’s license and have access to a vehicle.
  6. Must be willing to relocate to the Bruce County area or reside in the area.
  7. Previous nuclear experience is considered an asset.
  8. Leadership capabilities, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  9. Experience working with Canadian and Ontario codes and standards.
Additional Information:

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
