Job summary

DynaIndustrial in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, seeks a Senior Design Engineer to own challenging custom equipment projects from concept through completion. You will work directly with fabrication, machining, and field service teams to ensure successful project execution.

As part of our engineering team, you will develop innovative solutions using 3D modeling, drafting, and stress analysis. A degree in mechanical engineering and 5+ years of design experience are required, with travel possible for

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• 5+ years of design experience in heavy industrial equipment.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Experience producing manufacturing drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design custom heavy industrial equipment and mechanical systems.
• Develop detailed 3D models and production drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Perform engineering calculations and stress analysis.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, machining, welding, and field service teams.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, and execution.
• Support equipment installation and commissioning activities when required.
• Ensure designs meet customer specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within engineering and operations.

The Opportunity

As part of our growing engineering team in Saskatoon, you will take ownership of challenging custom equipment projects from concept through completion.

Working closely with customers, project managers, manufacturing teams, and field personnel, you will develop innovative solutions that solve complex industrial problems while ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Design custom heavy industrial equipment and mechanical systems
• Develop detailed 3D models and production drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
• Perform engineering calculations and stress analysis

Qualifications

Required

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
• 5+ years of engineering and design experience
• Strong proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
• Experience producing manufacturing and machining drawings
• Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and industrial equipment
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills

Preferred

• Project management experience
• Experience in heavy industrial equipment design
• Familiarity with FEA and stress analysis software
• Experience working with fabrication and machining processes
• Willingness to travel occasionally for installation and commissioning support
