Position Summary

The Design Engineer collaborates with product design, R&D, marketing, and manufacturing teams to create highly functional, profitable products or services that meet user needs. The primary focus is on designing and documenting industrial control panels to UL508A standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, and support SolidWorks projects, including 3D models, assemblies, and drawings.
• Design, document, and support AutoCAD schematics, detail drawings, and customer packages.
• Create documentation based on sold orders using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
• Support manufacturing by developing work instructions and testing documents.
• Oversee projects on the manufacturing floor to resolve drawing, BOM, or other issues.
• Act as a liaison with customers to address drawing and BOM issues.
• Assist in the sales process by providing engineering guidance on product selection and design considerations.
• Help customers and sales staff with product sizing using technical software and aids.
• Maintain technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, UL508A, MS Office, PowerPoint, PLC programming, and NEC/IEC code compliance.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
• Organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and positive attitude.

Minimum Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Engineering.
• At least 5 years of Design Engineering experience.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

Primarily office-based work, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods, hear telephone communications, enter data, and lift up to 10 pounds.
