The Company

This successful and reputable custom home builder in Calgary has been developing high-end homes across Alberta for many years and produces excellent homes across the province. They are currently looking to add a talented Intermediate or Senior Architectural Technologist / Drafter to their dedicated team. This company is known for their commitment to excellence and strong service delivery to their clients.

THE ROLE

The Responsibilities Of This Role Include

• Collaborate with Architects, Architectural designers, interior designers, to review and edit design drawings, and to ensure accurate technical documentation that meets project parameters.
• Prepare and submit build permit packages to the city or MDs.
• Work with Engineers, and truss and engineered flooring companies, to ensure all aspects of engineering are met.
• Work with interior designers to help create design packages. Packages will be detailed to ensure that all aspects and project parameters are met, and that all details are outlined for the construction team.
• You will work with the estimator and the sales team to ensure all details are being captured in our budgets.
• Coordinate with Project Coordinators, and Project Managers to ensure that projects start properly and that design details are outlined.
• Provide regular project updates to management and each construction team
• Resolve conflicts and problem solve any issues that come up during the Build Permit process.
• Assist in creating processes and to identify opportunities to improve current processes
• Create design packages yourself on your own time, and for extra money.
• Work collaboratively with teams and subconsultants
  

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Educational background in Drafting or Architectural Technology
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in the residential construction industry - ideally with custom build homes
• Capable with both AutoCAD and Revit is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
• Ongoing learning of overall industry, including building materials, construction methods & standards
• Knowledge of building code an asset
