Job description

EQ3 is an innovative leader in furniture and accessory design with retail locations across Canada and the US and a rapidly growing ecommerce presence. We are seeking a Design Consultant to join our growing Retail team. This is a full-time position located at EQ3’s Byward Store on 60 Byward Market Square, Ottawa. The Design Consultant will provide professional sales & service to our customers.

THE SKILLS YOU'LL NEED:

  • 1-2 years' experience in commission-based retail sales environment
  • Proficient in operations and systems; including POS system and Microsoft Office
  • Possess a creative flair or instinct that would be an asset to EQ3 sales objectives
  • Knowledgeable of every product & home accessory offered within the store
  • Detail oriented in all aspects of the job
  • Creative and persuasive communication sales style
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to multi-task
  • Demonstrated talent for effective use of computerized systems Microsoft Office.
  • Self-motivated, able to work well with little or no supervision, and a strong positive attitude
  • Must be available to work full-time, up to and including evenings and weekends

MORE ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Assist customers through their selection and purchase through defining their 'needs' and marrying those needs to the benefit of all product combinations and functions.
  • Responsible for driving and suggesting in-store and in-home consultations
  • Provide complete individualized design solution based on identified customer need, including creating floor plans for customers, to close sale.
  • Maintains company standards regarding personal and store sales/performance metrics.
  • Responsible for tracking orders through completion
  • Establish rapport and obtain customers appointments and in-home consultations.
