Design Co-op (Winter 2027)

Job summary

HDR is seeking a motivated Co-op student to join the Toronto design team for the Winter 2027 semester. You will assist in producing design and construction drawings, create diagrams and renderings, and coordinate with structural, mechanical, and electrical teams.

You will work within a large team and also operate independently under senior guidance. You'll benefit from mentorship in mass timber, sustainability, and computational design, with opportunities to participate in design events and site

Qualifications

• Preferred: Excellent graphic, rendering, and visual storytelling skills.
• Preferred: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Software.
• Preferred: Proficiency in Rhino, V-Ray, Grasshopper and SketchUp.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
• Required: Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
• Required: Attention to detail.
• Required: Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Required: Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Required: An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

We are seeking a motivated and talented Co-op student with strong active learning skills to join our Toronto design team for the Winter 2027 semester.
Our award-winning Toronto studio is engaged in a variety of exciting projects in Transit, Healthcare, Education, and Science. You will benefit from the mentorship of our experts in mass timber, sustainability, and computational design. We will support you in fulfilling your internship program requirements and achieving your learning goals. Our team is committed to creating a meaningful internship experience for the qualified candidate.
In the role of Design Co-op:
