Job description

At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for a talented Process Design Co-op to join our team at our office located in Vaughan, Ontario .

In this role, you will be involved in the application of engineering fundamentals and project related services in support of design assignments. Your work will involve process design and engineering support of multiple projects, including AutoCAD drawings, P&IDs, equipment specification, development of standards, 3D piping design, and automation and instrumentation.

Additional Responsibilities :

• Work with assigned design engineers and drafters to execute design drawings and specifications as required in order to support assigned projects. Ensures code and statute compliance in all projects.
• Use computer-aided design technologies to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents.
• Routinely archive and retrieve data from electronic databases for support of work.
• Research equipment selection from catalogs under the direction of the Project Designer / Engineer.
• Become proficient in the use of a computer for Design and CAD applications.
• Maintain a neat and organized work area, which allows efficient access to project information required by other team members.
• Keep Project Designer / Engineer aware of workload and request work when needed.

This exciting co-op opportunity will begin in March 2025 and run for 12-18 months.

Qualifications & Requirements :

• Is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited technical institution or college.
• Has proven time management skills and the ability to handle more than one project at a time.
• Has strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Previous experience in engineering or architecture.
