Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Design-Build Coordinator / Constructability Lead to join our dynamic team in Toronto, ON. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Toronto, ON. office.

What you'll be challenged to do:
As a Design-Build Coordinator / Constructability Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration of design intent with construction feasibility on large, complex infrastructure projects. This dual-role position is a key contributor to the successful delivery of projects in sectors such as heavy civil, transit, rail, healthcare, and education facilities.

In this capacity, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Serve as the central communication point between architecture, engineering, construction, and owner teams on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Lead detailed constructability reviews to ensure designs align with construction means, methods, and logistics.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary design development, ensuring alignment with construction sequencing and scheduled milestones.
  • Manage design submissions, RFIs, and responses across various design packages and phases, fostering collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Integrate staging, access, safety, and temporary works planning into early design discussions to optimize project delivery.
  • Maintain comprehensive tracking systems for constructability comments, quality control documentation, and risk assessments.
Education | Experience:

What you will bring to our firm:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in design-build coordination, construction management, or design management within large-scale infrastructure programs.
  • Proven experience collaborating with tier-one design firms on major projects in transit, healthcare, education, or public infrastructure


What we prefer you bring:

  • Extensive knowledge in heavy civil construction practices, utility coordination, structural systems, and large-scale design documentation.
  • Proficiency in BIM, clash detection tools (e.g., Navisworks), and construction/project management platforms (e.g., Procore, BIM 360, Primavera) is preferred.
  • A strong understanding of permitting, compliance, and public agency coordination for complex infrastructure.

The range for this position is salary dependent upon experience and geographic location.
