Job summary

Fraser Health Authority seeks two consulting Dermatologists to join the current group to serve Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Mission. The role focuses on outpatient and private community services with hospital consultations as needed.

The dermatologist will aim for a Clinical Faculty appointment with the University of British Columbia and provide supervision and teaching to medical trainees.

Qualifications

• Must hold FRCPC certification and be eligible for BC medical licensure.
• Should pursue Clinical Faculty appointment with University of British Columbia and participate in teaching/training of medical trainees.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient dermatology services in the community setting.
• Offer inpatient consultation to community hospitals as needed.
• Mentor and supervise medical trainees within the dermatology program.

Role and Facility Information

Fraser Health Authority is seeking 2 consulting Dermatologists to add to the current Dermatology group of 2 Dermatologists to provide service to the communities of Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Mission.

The Dermatologist would be providing mostly outpatient and private community services and would also be expected to provide consulting services to in patients at the community hospitals. The Dermatologist would also be expected to obtain Clinical Faculty appointment with University of British Columbia and provide supervision, mentorship and teaching to Medical Trainees.

Facilities

• Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre - a 280 bed, University of British Columbia affiliated hospital offering medical, surgical, obstetrics, inpatient pediatrics, renal, cardiology, tertiary palliative care, helipad, as well as 24/7 emergency services with nearly 80,000 visits annually. The hospital recently underwent a renovation and redesign of its Emergency Department that now includes a dedicated area for mental health and substance use care, a new nursing substation, and a relocated ambulance bay, among other features, to help improve patient flow and experience.


• Chilliwack General Hospital - a 169 bed, University of BC affiliated community hospital offering medical, surgical, obstetrics, psychiatry, and a regional eye centre, as well as 24/7 emergency services with nearly 62,000 visits annually.


• Mission Memorial Hospital - a 50 bed community hospital providing acute and ambulatory care as well as 24/7 emergency services with over 21,000 visits annually.
