Responsibilities
- Work with clients and prospective clients to meet accounting needs for new and existing products
- Liaise with clients, investment managers and internal staff to ensure reporting issues are addressed and that the accounting solutions provided best fit their needs, building and maintaining a strong relationship with advisor base
- Co-ordinate the workflow of pricing and reconciliations of derivative holdings to meet the accounting statement deadlines; execute as necessary
- Assist team members in the resolution of complex derivatives processing or accounting issues
- Provide guidance to junior staff to ensure client, advisor and internal department issues are addressed
- Keep current on new derivative and alternative investment products in the market place in order to be able to speak knowledgeably on the subject matter
- Participate in the annual review of all Derivative Operations policies; process daily derivatives transactions as needed
- Perform risk control analysis and assist supervisor and manager in developing and executing initiatives to proactively mitigate risk
- Identify opportunities for improved processing, cost reduction and revenue generation in the Derivatives Operations department
Qualifications
- University degree
- Knowledge of derivative instruments, valuation, reconciliations and trading strategies; executing on initiatives/projects; communicating with client front offices with respect to derivative trading programs
- 3 or more years experience in the securities industry, with experience in applying accounting principles in an operations environment
- Detail oriented, highly organized with ability to meet deadlines
