Job summary

Newrest in Toronto, Canada is seeking a Deputy Unit Manager to oversee the inflight unit in collaboration with the Unit Manager. You will monitor operations, manage finances, lead the team, and ensure service quality in line with Newrest commitments.

You will drive continuous improvement, optimize costs, and maintain relationships with authorities and clients while ensuring smooth production, accurate forecasting, and maintenance of facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Guarantee the level of quality of the services provided to customers and ensure the respect of commitments
• Optimize Financial goals
• Implement the group's strategy to achieve turnover growth in line with objectives
• Steer the continuous improvement process of the unit
• Identify activities with no added value and drive corrective actions
• Ensure quality relationships with authorities, service providers and all contacts of the unit
• Ensure production, organization, verification of figures and forecasts run smoothly
• Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of the unit and ensure repairs are effective
• Optimize human resources management and maintain productivity ratios
• Maintain a good social climate and respect agreements and regulations
• Ensure the company's image (outfit, trucks, buildings, etc.) and apply group procedures and standards
• Initiate and track public relations with potential, new and established clients
• Source/hire staff and train teams, identifying talent for mobility
• Ensure economic balance and manage material costs and payroll per group standards
• Supervise the unit's work to adapt production facilities to Newrest's requirements

Job description

Assume, as Deputy Unit Manager, all tasks related to the management of the inflight unit in collaboration with the Unit Manager, including the monitoring of operations, financial management, customer relations, team leadership, and more particularly:

• Guarantee the level of quality of the services Newrest provides to its customers and ensure the respect of Newrest's commitments to its customers
• Optimize Financial goals
• Implement the group's strategy to achieve turnover growth in line with development of set objectives
• Steer the continuous improvement process of the unit
• Identify activities with no added value that must be eliminated, carry out audits on work methods and procedure, detect problems, outline the most problematic, and encourage the implementation of corrective actions
• Ensure the quality of relationships with all authorities, service providers, internal and external contacts of the unit
• Ensure that production, organization, verification of figures and forecasts, run smoothly
• Be responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the unit and ensure all repairs are effectively and efficiently carried out
• Optimize human resources management and maintain productivity ratios in line with group standards
• Maintain a good social climate and ensure to respect the agreements as well as the regulations in force
• Ensure the good image of the company (outfit, condition of trucks, buildings, etc.)
• Ensure the application of the group procedures and standards (sales, operations, finance, purchase, QHSE)
• Initiate and track public relations actions with potential, new and established clients
• Sourcing/hiring staff people
• Train your teams and detect talent from the perspective of internal mobility
• Ensure the sustainability of economic balance and management ratios such as material cost and payroll according to group standards
• Supervise the unit's work to adapt the production facilities to Newrest's requirements
