The Opportunity
As Deputy Fire Chief, you will be involved in planning, coordinating, and directing the operations of Thunder Bay Fire Rescue (TBFR). TBFR is well-trained to handle a broad range of emergencies and hazardous situations.
This role reports to the Fire Chief and includes the following responsibilities :

Our team of 202 staff across five divisions is highly skilled and dedicated, capable of handling various emergencies and hazardous situations. We are committed to community safety through fire protection, rescue, public education, and medical assistance.
Services include fire suppression, auto extrication, hazardous material response, industrial accident management, medical response including defibrillation, high / low angle rescue, ice / water rescue, and confined space rescue from eight stations. We also provide emergency planning for the community.
