Northumberland Ferries is seeking a Deputy Director of Safety and Security to lead the company-wide SMS, security plans and regulatory compliance across vessels, terminals and facilities.

Reporting to the Director of Safety and Security, you will guide audits, incident investigations, risk assessments and training, while coordinating with vessel and shore teams to uphold safety culture and adherence to ISM and related standards.

Competenze

• Degree in maritime safety or occupational health and safety.
• Experience with SMS, audits and regulatory inspections.
• Ability to write reports and communicate across teams.
• Knowledge of ISM Code and marine safety requirements.

Mansioni

• Support and improve SMS and safety culture across vessel and shore operations.
• Provide day-to-day leadership to safety and security personnel, project teams, committees and operational stakeholders.
• Conduct and support formal risk assessments, hazard analyses and security assessments.
• Plan and conduct internal audits and support external audits and regulatory inspections.
• Support incident reporting and investigations, analyze trends and recommend improvements.
• Support vessel and facility security plans, drills and emergency preparedness.
• Work with managers to strengthen occupational health and safety practices, training and inspections.
• Monitor regulatory compliance obligations and communicate with regulators and classification societies.
• Prepare safety, security, audit and incident reports and recommendations; support annual safety plans and budget inputs.
• Act for the Director on specific matters when delegated.
