Job description

The House of Commons Office of the SergeantatArms and Corporate Security is currently looking to staff the Deputy Chief of Operations Corporate Security position.

This recruitment and selection process is restricted to employees of the SergeantatArms and Corporate Security Office.

About the Role :

In this role, you will lead the development of consistent and effective security strategies that focus on providing service excellence to the House of Commons Administration, Members of Parliament and their staff, as well as parliamentary partners. As a manager, you will identify corporate security priorities and ensure the team is equipped to continue advancing and improving practices at the House of Commons. You will collaborate and provide subject matter expertise in risk management, investigations, and House Chamber security. Reporting to the Chief of Operations, Corporate Security, you will serve as an important link between strategy and day-to-day operations. Your leadership will be key in fostering a culture of security excellence while ensuring strategic priorities are implemented to protect the integrity and operations of the House of Commons.

Qualifications : Education :

  • Postsecondary education in policing or protective services, along with certification in investigative methodology, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience related to the responsibilities.

Experiences :

  • Operational security, risk management, protective operations, or law enforcement experience in a high-profile, security-sensitive environment.
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering security operations related to protective services, threat and risk assessments, investigations, and security incident management.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and improving operational security procedures, practices, and investigative protocols.
  • Experience managing and leading security teams.
  • Experience coordinating complex security operations with multiple internal and external partners.
  • Knowledge of House of Commons operations, including Chamber security protocols, ceremonial responsibilities, and precinct access.
