A leading technology services provider is seeking a Hardware Deployment Technician for an onsite position in Sault Ste. Marie, Canada. Responsibilities include installation of peripherals and incident management for IT hardware. Candidates should have a Level 1 Enhanced Reliability Clearance or equivalent experience living in Canada. The pay rate for this entry-level position is $22/hour for a short-term contract of 1-2 weeks.
Description
Our Federal Government Client is responsible for the planning, acquisition and life-cycle management of hardware, and provide direct support to departmental employees in the area of hardware refresh from initial configuration to daily incident support. The Team supports approximately 39,000 employees and 2,850 Citizen Access Workstations (CAWS) located throughout Canada. The main devices utilized by employees include tablets, laptops and desktops.
In addition to being directly accountable for the corporate IM / IT investments in infrastructure and corporate applications, the group includes the provisioning and support that provides users with local and remote access to individual, workgroup, program-specific, corporate applications, desktop service (provisioning / support) and Local Area Network (LAN, physical or virtual) functionality including file / print and directory services.
Decentralized teams are located across Canada to manage these investments and services. Although these services are currently being offered by the IT support team and employees, lack of resources in some locations requires assistance to respect the timelines for some specific operational services that could ultimately have a negative impact on services to Canadians if not delivered on time.
The the IT support team requires a team of Hardware Deployment Technicians to support the National Accommodation Project and multiple fit up projects across several locations in Canada. Duties will include basic IT work, not requiring elevated privileges or access to any protected or sensitive data.
