Recruitment/Posting Title Department of Medicine: Medical Director of Transplant
The Department of Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is seeking an experienced transplant nephrologist to serve as the Medical Director of the Kidney/Pancreas Transplant Program. The Medical Director will provide clinical and strategic leadership to advance the program’s growth, quality, and research initiatives. Key responsibilities include direct patient care for transplant candidates, recipients, and living donors; development and oversight of clinical protocols; participation in quality assurance and performance improvement; and representation at national transplant forums and organizations such as UNOS and The Sharing Network. The chosen candidate will lead transplant nephrology recruitment and mentorship efforts, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, contribute to teaching rounds, and support outreach to referring physicians. The Department of Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is comprised of approximately 150 paid and more than 300 volunteer faculty members organized into 11 divisions covering the major medical subspecialties: Allergy, Immunology and Infectious Diseases; Cardiovascular Diseases and Hypertension; Education; Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition; Gastroenterology and Hepatology; General Internal Medicine; Hematology; Medical Oncology; Nephrology; Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine; and Rheumatology.
