The appointment's academic rank will depend on the candidate's qualifications.
The Department of Indigenous Learning seeks well-rounded candidates who balance research, teaching, and service. Applicants should have completed a PhD in Indigenous Studies or a related field by the time of appointment or be in the final stages of their PhD candidacy.

The department is located on the Thunder Bay campus within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. It is an interdisciplinary program that promotes understanding of Indigenous intellectual traditions and relations between Indigenous and settler communities. Programs include a Bachelor of Arts (Indigenous Learning Major), Honours Bachelor of Arts (Indigenous Learning Major), and a minor in Indigenous Learning combined with other disciplines.
