Job summary

London Drugs is seeking a Pharmacy Manager in Winnipeg to lead the Pharmacy Department, ensuring high standards of practice and efficient operations. You will hire, schedule, and manage payroll, while overseeing ongoing staff training and development.

Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with 1–2 years of community pharmacy experience, a valid Pharmacist license, and a strong commitment to patient counseling and team leadership.

Qualifications

  • Valid Pharmacist license in good standing with the provincial College.
  • Willing to participate in continued education to upgrade knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills and excellent customer and staff relations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional leadership to the Pharmacy Department.
  • Hire, schedule, and payroll for staff.
  • Oversee training and development of Pharmacy staff.
  • Engage in patient counseling and maintain high standards of practice.

Pharmacy Manager

Pharmacy Managers are responsible for providing professional leadership to the Pharmacy Department. The Pharmacy Manager will ensure that the pharmacy maintains high standards of practice, providing exceptional pharmacy services and operates efficiently. The Department Manager is responsible for hiring, scheduling, and payroll, as well as the ongoing training and development of staff in the Pharmacy Department.

Pharmacy technicians and state-of-the-art technology are used to relieve pharmacists from routine tasks and allow them to concentrate on practicing pharmacy. Patient care is paramount. All pharmacists are committed to maintaining innovative patient care services.

You have a desire to actively engage in patient counseling, monitor patient profiles and perform drug usage reviews. You are interested in disease management and compliance programs as well as being involved with community seminars and workshops. Preference will be given to applicants with a minimum one year of management experience, however applicants without management experience may also be considered.

Key Qualifications & Responsibilities
  • Minimum Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with 1 - 2 years of community pharmacy experience.
  • Valid Registered Pharmacist license and in good standing with the provincial College.
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of the pharmacy business.
  • Willing to participate in continued education to upgrade his/her knowledge.
  • Good communication skills and excellent customer and staff relations.
  • Ability to lead a team and have a coaching management style.
  • Ability to work quickly, multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • A high level of professionalism, energy and enthusiasm.
  • Strong computer skills.
