Freson Bros., an Alberta-owned and operated fresh food retail chain, invites entrepreneurial-minded individuals to apply for the Department Manager in Training position. This leadership role is based at our Stony Plain, Alberta store and is essential to the success of Freson Bros. (Fresh Market).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year management experience in the retail food industry
  • Proven track record of meeting financial objectives in retail
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Passion for leadership and staff development
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Manage inventory through weekly orders, records, invoices, and quarterly counts
  • Schedule team members to meet customer needs
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and departmental programs
  • Recruit effectively and maintain a high-performance team
  • Conduct performance reviews and prepare departmental reports
  • Train, develop, and motivate team members
  • Resolve customer and staff concerns to ensure a positive experience
