Job summary

Sport Chek in Corner Brook is seeking a Department Sales Manager of Footwear to lead the footwear department, coach a team, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

You’ll coach staff, set daily game and sales plans, and develop development plans for full‑time associates while driving store performance and growth in a dynamic Canadian retail environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in a retail environment, preferably at a supervisory level.
• Proven track record of business growth and exceptional customer service.
• Demonstrated interest in or involvement in sports or sporting goods is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop your department team by setting expectations, keeping open lines of communication, coaching on a continual basis, providing constructive feedback, and ongoing support.
• Build and manage a daily game and sales plan for the department.
• Create development plans for full-time staff – providing support and coaching to improve any performance gaps.

• As a Department Sales Manager of Footwear, you have a passion for sports and live an active lifestyle.
• You know shoes, are keenly interested to learn more, and maybe even a sneaker head!
• You demonstrate a positive and engaged attitude when dealing with customers and employees and are responsible for coaching and developing your team.
• As an ambassador and leader of the customer experience you look to develop relationships with customers and provide mentorship and coaching to your team to ensure the same.
• Coach and develop your department team by setting expectations, keeping open lines of communication, coaching on a continual basis, providing constructive feedback, and ongoing support.
• Build and manage a daily game and sales plan for the department.
• Create development plans for full-time staff – providing support and coaching to improve any performance gaps.

• Develop and maintain a positive work environment for staff.

Our typical hiring range is between $42,500 and $56,250. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, store size and market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
