GARDENWORKS Nanaimo is looking for an energetic and passionate, gardening enthusiast who is customer service focused and enjoys sharing knowledge with others! This is a lead position mentoring under the Department Manager.

Job type: Full time 40 hours per week. Salary: $21.00 – 24.00/hr

Overview Of Role

  • Building sales and supporting the GARDENWORKS Brand by providing outstanding service to our guests
  • Sharing your gardening knowledge - informing guests about care & maintenance of their plants, asking questions to help solve gardening concerns
  • Assisting in the execution of the product flow process, including receiving, pricing, preparing product for floor, and final placement - ensuring product meets our quality standards

Is this you?

  • A passion for what we do – connecting people to nature and growing!
  • Solid knowledge of trees & shrubs, including proper growing and maintenance requirements
  • 3+ years customer service experience, preferably in a retail setting
  • Strong organization skills are self-directed, and you work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strength in Microsoft excel, and utilizing our POS system for sales reporting
  • You believe in fostering a positive and respectful workplace - listening, looking for solutions and encouraging open communication among the team
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekends, and holidays as seasonal peaks require, including store opening and closing responsibilities
  • This job requires extended periods of walking and standing, as well as the ability to lift to 50lbs and work in various weather conditions and environments
  • Forklift certification or willingness to go through our in-house training program
