Our team has an immediate 12-month contract opening for a Department Assistant.


About the team:

As a strategic partner supporting all of Huawei Canada, the Human Resource Department plays a pivotal role in attracting, developing, and retaining top talent while ensuring compliance with corporate and legal standards. By prioritizing employee well-being and professional growth, this department cultivates a culture of collaboration and success. The Human Resource Department is committed to aligning workforce strategies with Huawei’s vision, driving sustainable growth and organizational effectiveness.


About the job:

  1. Provide direct administrative and office management support to the director and managers of the department as directed.
  2. Prepare travel schedules, book travel arrangements, and make reservations for senior management and occasionally members of their staff.
  3. Coordinate the logistics of team programs including meetings, seminars, workshops, special projects, and events (including awards, celebrations, and social events).
  4. Minute taking and tracking meetings resolutions.
  5. Basic system and document management for procurement projects.
  6. Complete expense reports, pay invoices, and other related duties.
  7. Other duties shall be assigned as required.

The target annual compensation (based on 2080 hours per year) ranges from $48,000 to $94,000 depending on education, experience, and demonstrated expertise.


About the ideal candidate:

  1. Post-Secondary Diploma in Business Administration, or relevant discipline.
  2. Strong knowledge of office procedures and practices.
  3. Fast learner and keen attention to detail.
  4. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).
  5. Resourceful and flexible.
  6. Strong English communication skills.
  7. Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to schedule duties/projects (multi-task).
  8. Desire to contribute to a team environment.
