Job summary

The University of Alberta in Edmonton (North Campus) seeks a casual Dental Materials Clerk to maintain, dispense, and stock dental materials, instrumentation, and equipment in a fast-paced clinical/educational setting. You will interact daily with dental/hygiene students, residents, instructors and staff.

Knowledge of dental procedures, products, supply operations and School of Dentistry policies is preferred; duties may extend to reprocessing, Simulation Lab, Central Sterilization, and basic

Qualifications

• Education: Grade 12 Diploma; dental training and inventory management experience are assets.
• CPR HCP Level C certification required; WHMIS training required.
• Knowledge of dental procedures, materials, and equipment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Inventory management: dispense, retrieve, and track supplies using AxiUm; audit stock and monitor expiry dates.
• Infection prevention and control: maintain IPC/EHS/WHMIS standards; setup/clean dispensaries; ensure sterilization of instruments.
• Student and clinical support: guide students on material/equipment selection; support Central Sterilization, Simulation Lab, and clinic floor activities.
• Operations and safety: assist with emergency paging, nurse calls, and floor evacuation protocols.
