Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred.

Docbraces Waterloo has an exciting part-time opportunity, looking for a talented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our Waterloo, Ontario team. Canadian Orthodontic Partners provides support services to Docbraces Waterloo and our national network of community-based clinics in delivering personalized Orthodontic treatment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing patient care and support in an enthusiastic way, building a personal connection at every visit.
  • Ensures that patients receive optimal hygiene treatment based on clinical findings and their goal for comprehensive oral health.
  • Desire to help, educate, and improve our patients’ lives.
  • Collect patient’s dental and relevant medical history, to reference during examinations.
  • Prepare patients for the Orthodontist.
  • Prepare patient and equipment for X-Rays.
  • Take X-Rays and follow all safety procedures as required.
  • Examine gums for infections or gum disease.
  • Clean patient’s teeth to remove plaque, polish, floss, and brush.
  • Bond and remove brackets and orthodontic appliances.
  • Place and remove arch wires.
  • Educate patients on good oral hygiene habits and treatment progress.
  • Update patient records and examination notes.
  • Perform all lab duties/requirements as instructed by the Orthodontist or leadership team.
  • Prepare and maintain all dental instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Call patients for aftercare and answer questions.
  • Travel to satellite locations if/when necessary.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and work cohesively with fellow team members to provide an atmosphere of trust, respect, and cooperation.
  • Possess great energy for a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years’ experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred but not required.
  • Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or Hygiene Degree program.
  • Registered and/or licensed by the dental hygiene regulatory authority within province, in good standing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal, an ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease.
  • Great time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience in an orthodontic office is preferred but not required.
