Job summary

docbraces London in London, ON is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist for a full-time role in our orthodontic team. You will provide patient care, collect medical histories, prepare patients for the Orthodontist, take X-rays and support dental procedures.

The ideal candidate has a Dental Hygiene Diploma or degree, is licensed in Ontario, and possesses strong communication and time-management skills. CPR/First Aid is required.

Qualifications

• Licensed by the Ontario dental hygiene regulatory authority in good standing.
• Dental Hygiene Diploma or Hygiene Degree.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal.
• Great time management and organizational skills.
• Experience in an orthodontic office is preferred but not required.
• Current CPR and First Aid training.

Responsibilities

• Providing patient care and support in an enthusiastic way, building a personal connection at every visit.
• Desire to help, educate and improve our patients’ lives.
• Collect patient’s dental and relevant medical history, to reference during examinations.
• Prepare patients for the Orthodontist.
• Preparing patient and equipment for X-Rays.
• Taking X-Rays and following all safety procedures as required.
• Bonding and removal of brackets and orthodontic appliances.
• Placing and removing arch wires.
• Educate patients on good oral hygiene habits and treatment progress.
• Updating patient records and examination notes.
• Perform all lab duties/requirements as instructed by the Orthodontist or leadership team.
• Prepare and maintain all dental instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Travel to satellite locations if/when necessary.
• Maintain a positive attitude and work cohesively with fellow team members to provide an atmosphere of trust, respect, and cooperation.

Requirements:

• 2+ years’ experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred but not required.
• Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or Hygiene Degree program.
• Registered and/or licensed by the dental hygiene regulatory authority within province, in good standing.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal, an ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease.
• Great time management and organizational skills.
• Experience in an orthodontic office is preferred but not required.
• Current CPR and First Aid training.
