Job summary

docbraces London, part of Canadian Orthodontic Partners, seeks a Registered Dental Hygienist for a full-time role in London, ON. You’ll provide patient care, support orthodontic teams, and help educate patients.

The position offers guaranteed hours, a competitive hourly wage plus quarterly bonus, comprehensive benefits for you and family, uniform allowance, educational reimbursement, and travel to satellite locations as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred but not required.
• Registered and/or licensed by the provincial dental hygiene regulatory authority in good standing.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and support in an enthusiastic way, building a personal connection at every visit.
• Educate patients on good oral hygiene habits and treatment progress.
• Collect patient dental and medical history for references during examinations.
• Prepare patients for the Orthodontist and assist with X-ray procedures.
• Maintain equipment and instruments; travel to satellite locations when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing patient care and support in an enthusiastic way, building a personal connection at every visit.
• Desire to help, educate and improve our patients’ lives.
• Collect patient’s dental and relevant medical history, to reference during examinations.
• Prepare patients for the Orthodontist.
• Preparing patient and equipment for X-Rays
• Taking X-Rays and following all safety procedures as required
• Bonding and removal of brackets and orthodontic appliances
• Placing and removing arch wires
• Educate patients on good oral hygiene habits and treatment progress.
• Updating patient records and examination notes
• Perform all lab duties/requirements as instructed by the Orthodontist or leadership team.
• Prepare and maintain all dental instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Travel to satellite locations if/when necessary
• Maintain a positive attitude and work cohesively with fellow team members to provide an atmosphere of trust, respect, and cooperation.
• Possess great energy for a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• 2+ years’ experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred but not required.
• Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or Hygiene Degree program.
• Registered and/or licensed by the dental hygiene regulatory authority within province, in good standing.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal, an ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease.
• Great time management and organizational skills.
• Experience in an orthodontic office is preferred but not required.
