Job summary

Dentalcorp Health Services LTD. in Northside East Bay, Nova Scotia, is seeking a Dental Assistant to ensure treatment rooms are prepared and assist during dental procedures. The ideal candidate will be registered as a Dental Assistant and have experience in a dental setting.

Qualifications

• Must be registered and/or certified as a Dental Assistant with Provincial regulatory body.
• Previous dental assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and materials for procedures, ensuring cleanliness.
• Assist dentists and hygienists, maintaining patient comfort.
• Take dental X-rays as required.
• Perform sterilization and infection control.
• Update patient charts and educate on oral hygiene.
• Support patient scheduling and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with dental team for efficient care.
• Follow safety and regulatory guidelines.

Schedule

• Four days per week
• Two days at Northside Dental with Dr. Higgins
• Two days at Harbourview with Dr. Petite
• 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Your Role

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow
• Take dental X-rays and digital images as required
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care
• Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines
• Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour

About You

• Registered and/or certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association (required)
• Previous dental assisting experience preferred
