A healthcare provider in Alberta is seeking a Dental Assistant to provide chairside and clinical support, educate patients on dental care, and maintain compliance with health regulations. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of Nitec in Dental Assisting and 2 years of relevant experience. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset are essential. This role includes appointment scheduling and inventory management.
Provide chairside and clinical assistance to the dentist, including taking of dental radiograph.
Attend to patients and educate them on dental and post-operative care.
Comply with work safety regulations and infection control practices in accordance with Dental Health Services policies and guidelines.
Disinfect and sterilise instruments and equipment, as well as ensure the cleanliness of the treatment room/workstation.
Assist in the auditor’s assessment and audit
Apply and comply with well-established sets of requirements and standards of the Joint Commission International (JCI)
Maintain and control stock inventory and equipment
Oversee maintenance, repair and disposal of condemned equipment
Booking, scheduling of appointments, and registration of patients
Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirement:
Minimum Nitec in Dental Assisting
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Experience in reception duties is preferred
Ability to work in a team environment and independently when required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in MS Office with prior experience managing clinic management system
