Job summary

Alzheimer Society of BC and Yukon is seeking a Support and Education Coordinator, First Link to provide direct client services, deliver programs, and facilitate referrals across the region. The role combines in-person delivery with remote work 2-3 days a week and requires travel within BC and Yukon.

Reporting to the Manager, Community Services, you will train and support service-delivery volunteers, maintain client records, and stay current with dementia resources to support people living with

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in health or social services setting.
• Experience in community programming and working with older adults.
• Not-for-profit experience is an asset and will help understand community needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver community programs and services.
• Conduct client intakes via formal referrals and self-referrals.
• Provide one-to-one telephone support to people living with dementia and caregivers.
• Deliver standardized workshops for people living with dementia, caregivers and the public.
• Facilitate or support volunteers to run support groups.
• Maintain formal referral networks and relationships with health professionals.
