Job summary

Job description

Aurora Geosciences Ltd. (Aurora) in collaboration with DEMCo Ltd. (DEMCo) is seeking safety oriented, motivated, and hard-working individuals for a seasonal site-based roles at DEMCo’s Camsell River Project in the Sahtu region of the Northwest Territories. There is one position that need to be filled.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Camp set-up and maintenance

  • Operating RTK GPS equipment to support a ground gravity survey, training in the operation of this equipment will be provided.

  • Conducting a water depth survey using a fish-finder type device on a boat, training in the operation of this equipment will be provided

  • Light brushing work using chainsaws, machetes, and axes

  • Operating a boat with an outboard motor

  • Operating an ATV on existing road and trail network

  • Contributing to the general operations of a small camp such as cooking, cleaning, washing dishes etc.

The successful candidate should have the following capabilities:

  • Be committed to safe work practices and abide by the company’s Code of Conduct and any other associated policies

  • Be comfortable and have experience working in the field, outdoors, or remote work environments and in all weather conditions

  • Be in good physical condition, capable of carrying up to 25kg of weight and able to work long hours

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively

  • Previous experience working in remote field operations is an asset.

  • Previous experience using chainsaws and other cutting implements is an asset

  • Experience using GPS devices for navigation, or using RTK systems is a strong asset

  • Experience operating boats and ATVs is an asset.

  • Valid first aid certificate is an asset

  • The ability to learn new skills

  • Be a general team player

Preference will be given to those who reside in Deline and Gameti, NT.
