MacDon Industries Ltd. is seeking a Demand Planner to forecast and allocate inventory for our Global Parts Team. The role relies on statistical analysis, planning tools, and collaboration across departments to meet KPI goals and customer expectations.

The position focuses on optimizing KPI metrics like fill rate and inventory turns, coordinating with RDCs, and supporting manufacturing for line shortages while maintaining service levels.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years in a Demand Planning role; IBF training & certification desired.
  • Extensive MS Excel skills and strong mathematical abilities.
  • Experience with DRP/MRP functionality.
  • Knowledge of Demand Planning/Forecasting systems in a multi-location distribution environment.
  • Experience with ERP software; JD Edwards experience an asset.
  • Knowledge of inventory KPI’s.
  • Customer service driven with a sense of urgency.

  • Plan & fulfill all worldwide Regional Parts Distribution Center's (RDC's) inventory requirements.
  • Supply parts to Manufacturing/Production for line shortages while not jeopardizing Parts service level & fill rates.
  • Prepare, report, and communicate on KPI's.
  • Continuously improve inventory demand planning tools, methods, and approach.
  • Work with Management on any tasks assigned.

Job description

Working with our Global Parts Team, the Demand Planner role forecasts and allocates inventory. The role relies on the use of statistical analysis, inventory demand planning tools, problem solving skills, and collaboration with other departments to achieve Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals and meet or exceed our customer’s expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure KPI's such as fill rate and inventory turns are met using statistical analysis and inventory demand planning tools such as forecasting, DRP, and min/max. Work closely with Supply Chain to achieve these goals.
  • Make recommended adjustments to KPI's and inventory demand planning tools based on changes in demand and market trends.
  • Plan & fulfill all worldwide Regional Parts Distribution Center's (RDC's) inventory requirements.
  • Supply parts to Manufacturing/Production for line shortages while not jeopardizing Parts service level & fill rates.
  • Prepare, report, and communicate on KPI's.
  • Continuously improve inventory demand planning tools, methods, and approach.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field an asset.
Skills & Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Demand Planning position, with IBF training & certification is desired.

  • Experience with DRP/MRP functionality
  • Strong knowledge of Demand Planning/Forecasting systems in a multiple location Distribution environment.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain processes to work closely with Supply Chain staff.
  • Experience using ERP software packages. JD Edwards experience an asset.
  • Knowledge of inventory KPI’s.
  • Knowledge of agricultural industry an asset.
  • Problem solver that can use objective analysis and evaluation to make decisions and develop strategies.
  • Analytical mindset, using logic to breakdown facts and numbers and come up with quantifiable solutions.
  • Planner that looks to the future and can effectively gather information, analyze, and make timely decisions.
