Company Description

Our client is a well-respected warehousing and logistics company, working with food manufacturers across Canada and the US. They plan for millions of pounds of food ingredients annually and are looking to expand their team with this role.

Position Description

This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys collaborating with multiple internal teams, clients, and stakeholders. It is a hands-on position responsible for ensuring the delivery of food products internationally and overseeing the company's entire food supply chain. The role involves forecasting and predicting future supply needs to maintain a stable and consistent inventory throughout the year.

Experience

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in various inventory management disciplines
  • Experience working with offshore and domestic factories, as well as Traders and Sales teams
  • Knowledge of acceptable import practices and import requirements for Canada and the United States
  • Experience in the food industry is an asset

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles (FIFO, Min/Max, etc.) and inventory cost control
  • Understanding of third-party warehouse inventory management and maintaining optimal inventory levels
  • Proactive and resourceful in resolving inventory challenges, with excellent communication skills for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team within an assigned portfolio
  • Recognized as an inventory expert
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Education

A university degree or a related diploma in logistics or supply chain management is considered an asset.
