Job summary

East Penn Canada is seeking a Delivery and Recovery Driver to safely operate a delivery vehicle and transport batteries to customers while collecting used or defective batteries for recycling. You will ensure timely, accurate deliveries and uphold safety, with a strong emphasis on customer service and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a valid DZ licence, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and experience in commercial deliveries.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial delivery driving experience.
• Valid DZ driver’s licence with air brake endorsement and a clean driver’s abstract.
• Willing to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.
• Willing to push, pull, or move up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Strong customer service skills with at least 1 year of customer-facing experience.
• Excellent English communication, reading, writing, and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up products according to established routes and schedules.
• Load and unload products safely and efficiently – up to 50 lbs.
• Accurately complete delivery, shipping, and warehouse documentation.

The Delivery and Recovery Driver (DZ licence requirement) is responsible for safely operating a delivery vehicle to transport new products to East Penn Canada customers and to pick up used or defective batteries for recycling.

This role directly contributes to customer satisfaction by ensuring timely, accurate, and professional deliveries, while maintaining compliance with all transportation, safety, and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up products according to established routes and schedules
• Load and unload products safely and efficiently – frequently lifting loads of up to 50 lbs
• Accurately complete delivery, shipping, and warehouse documentation
• Maintain professional relationships with customers at delivery locations
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any issues promptly
• Follow all company, health & safety, and transportation rules and regulations
• Occasionally assist with warehouse duties and inventory counts

Experience & Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial delivery driving experience
• Valid DZ driver’s licence with air brake endorsement and a clean driver’s abstract
• Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively
• Willing and able to push, pull, or move up to 100 lbs occasionally
• Strong customer service skills with at least one year of customer-facing experience
• Excellent communication skills in English (reading, writing, and speaking) with the ability to confidently provide customers with delivery and product information when requested
• Comfortable working with mobile technology
• Strong organization and time‑management skills
• Able to maintain composure and professionalism at all times
• 1+ years of warehouse experience a strong asset
• Forklift experience and experience transporting dangerous goods are strong assets

Additional Considerations

• Acceptable results from background checks, including criminal record, professional references, and driver’s abstracts, will be required as a condition of employment
• Hiring range for this role is $28.00 to $30.00 per hour (actual salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data)
