About the workplace

As the Delivery Lead for the Core Banking Platform in the IT division, you are responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of Vancity’s core banking solutions. This includes managing end-to-end project lifecycles, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring that the delivery of new features, enhancements, and system integrations align with business objectives. The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders to define requirements, manage resources, mitigate risks, and ensure the timely and high-quality execution of initiatives. The Delivery Manager will drive continuous improvements, support change management, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards in the core banking domain.

This is a permanent, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. This role may require you to work in-office at least once a week.

A typical day would involve:

Technical Leadership & Architecture

Partner with cross-functional teams (business readiness, developers, analysts) fostering an innovative and collaborative environment to enable delivery/execution.

Provide technical guidance, ensuring adherence to best practices in architecture, design, and coding.

Ensure alignment with architecture and integration teams for robust, scalable, and secure delivery and future horizons.

Continuously improve processes and troubleshoot issues to optimize IT solutions.

Project & Resource Management

  • Responsible for delivering platform-related project(s) from planning to execution aligned with business goals and timelines.

Define, coordinate, and monitor workflow, optimizing the efficiency of project team resources.

Provide performance feedback and guidance to team members while mitigating risks in line with SDLC and PLC frameworks.

Proactively manage scope, requirements and impacts while identifying potential delivery risks early and propose mitigation strategies.

Resolve technical issues as they arise.

Work closely with internal teams to understand needs and optimize platform solutions.

Act as the main point of contact between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Translate business requirements into technical tasks to support business systems analysts.

Oversee vendor relationships, ensuring optimal functionality and seamless integration of external service providers.

Collaborate with marketing, communications, and change management teams for effective product positioning and user adoption.

Compliance, Innovation & Performance Monitoring

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies, incorporating regulatory and legacy modernization into platform strategy.

Drive innovation by identifying new tools, processes, and technologies that elevate platform capabilities.

Oversee the full technical delivery lifecycle (research, planning, design, support roadmap development, requirements gathering, and launch).

Ensure solutions meet organizational, employee, and customer needs with a user-centered approach.

Partner with business readiness teams to enable smooth deployment of products and services.

Support and develop expertise within assigned portfolios while demonstrating agility in assisting cross-functional teams.

You have:

8+ years of related work experience, in core banking projects and delivery.

Experience in financial institutions or banking is an asset, including understanding of banking regulations, security standards, and industry best practices to ensure compliance.

Strong understanding of both agile and waterfall delivery models

Strong expertise in leading complex IT projects, ensuring projects are delivered on-time, within-budget.

Familiarity with core banking systems, software development processes, and system integrations.

Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and high performance.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage expectations, align priorities, and ensure clear and consistent updates to stakeholders at all levels.

Proficiency in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to prevent project delays or failures.

Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills to address technical and operational challenges quickly.

Ability to navigate changing priorities and project scopes, managing uncertainty in a dynamic environment.

Experience in managing third-party vendors and ensuring the timely delivery of external services or products.

Problem solver and decision-maker– You lead diagnosis of project challenges, find innovative business solutions, and assess risks and opportunities. You make timely decisions.

The salary range for this role is $81,200 to $122,000 annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
