We are looking for a Delivery Driver to join our sales team and help us continue our mission of transforming lives through mobility solutions.
Scope
The Delivery Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of medical equipment to various branches and other medical facilities or customer residences. The driver is responsible for transporting medical equipment safely, maintaining delivery schedules, and providing exceptional customer service.
Role And Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Out-of-store delivery, pick up orders from local suppliers, recycling/ dump runs etc.
- Load and unload equipment to and from the warehouse.
- Provide safe delivery of company products to customer residences.
- Pickup of equipment from customer residences.
- Communicate with customers in a professional and courteous manner, providing delivery updates, answering inquiries, and addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries (such as hospital beds, floor-to-ceiling poles etc), including invoices, receipts, and delivery confirmation signatures.
- Small repairs and adjustments to equipment or coordination of repairs with the technicians.
- Assisting in the cleaning and disinfection of rental and demonstration equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.).
- Returning equipment to the proper position in the warehouse.
- Assisting other technicians in the performance of their duties when asked, including the delivery of equipment to customers and assistance with repairs.
- Ensuring, in conjunction with other technicians and staff, that the warehouse is maintained in an orderly fashion with all inventory items appropriately cleaned and stored.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including the proper handling and storage of medical equipment during transportation.
Competencies / Skills - Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects up to 75 lbs and perform manual labour.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing delivery schedules and priorities.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning tools.
