Job summary

Fresh Start Foods is hiring a full-time Delivery Driver at our Richmond, BC location. You will deliver produce safely, complete pre-truck inspections, and ensure temperatures are maintained on refrigerated routes.

Fresh Start Foods Canada Ltd. was founded in 1993 to provide Foodservice Customers with a fresh alternative. Fresh Start Foods is currently hiring a full time Delivery Driver who is eager to work in a fast paced team oriented work environment in our Richmond, BC location.

Position: Permanent, Full-Time

Schedule: Monday to Saturday (days off will be Sunday and one weekday)

Shift: 5:30 am to finish

Salary: $25/hr (paid on a weekly basis!)

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Deliver all produce products in a safe and professional manner
• Perform and complete pre-truck inspection forms (i.e. check tires and fluid levels)
• Ensure the preloaded truck includes all tools for success during the route (pallet straps, hand cart, pen, clipboard, load bars and all necessary paperwork)
• Ensure refrigerated trucks maintain the required temperatures throughout the delivery
• Accurately document and complete proof of delivery, driver delivery log and track the temperature of the truck
• Handle customer complaints and returns of unwanted product
• Collect cheques upon delivery
• Follow computer-based RoadNet from Gordon Food Services

Requirements:

• Class 5 unrestricted driver's license with clean driver's abstract
• Ability to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to changes in priorities
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Experience driving a three or five-ton truck is preferred
• Basic understanding of the cold chain process is preferred
• Basic understanding of technology is an asset
• Knowledge of the food industry is an asset
• Familiarity with routes and the lower mainland is preferred
