SUMMARY

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Delivery Driver’s primary responsibility is operating a five-ton truck, transporting home furnishings and appliances to customers’ homes, providing installation and hookup services, and removing exchanges or recycled products. You will be a Metro Supply Chain ambassador of white glove service and a leader in in-home delivery. Creating a positive customer experience by understanding and meeting customer needs is essential. Success is measured by customer satisfaction through punctual, accurate deliveries and positive interactions.

12-month contract

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate a five-ton commercial vehicle (Class 3 with F endorsement) on predetermined routes using a delivery application to ensure timely deliveries to retail locations. Routes may vary.
• Complete all documentation per SOPs, including appliance and furniture installation, manifests, signatures, and safety procedures.
• Load products carefully at the hub to prevent damage during delivery.
• Follow safe driving practices and provincial motor vehicle laws.
• Maintain cleanliness of the delivery truck, perform safety inspections, and report concerns.
• Protect company property against theft according to SOPs.
• Assist with returning damaged or exchanged products to the hub as needed.
• Support rush deliveries and special installations, coordinating with Customer Service and Logistics.
• Build positive relationships with the Logistics Coordinator, understanding client expectations and addressing concerns.
• Maintain a professional appearance and courteous customer interactions.
• Demonstrate Metro’s values daily.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE

• Valid Class 3 driver’s license with F endorsement and a clean driver abstract.
• Experience in delivery, especially in time-sensitive and customer-facing environments, preferred.
• Experience with home delivery, appliance, and furniture installation.
• Willingness to undergo background and credit checks.
• At least one year of experience driving five-ton trucks.
• Ability to lift over 100 lbs comfortably and consistently.
• Available 7 days/week.
