Qualifications

Job description

Wesbell is seeking a responsibleDelivery Driverto deliver products/material promptly to job locations in a safe and timely manner.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities Include
  • Delivering a wide variety of items
  • Following delivery driving routes and time schedules
  • Loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting and operating the delivery vehicle
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Document and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving
  • Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes
  • Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
  • Report defects, accidents or violations
Education (Theoretical Training)
  • High School Diploma
Job Requirements & Experience
  • Must be at least 25 years of age
  • Hold a valid Class 5 or higher driver’s license
  • Capable of driving 1-tonne trucks and flatbed trailers. Including hooking trailers up and navigating tricky rural roads and hills
  • Clean police check required (no serious or recent charges)
  • Good driving record with no recent driving violations
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of acceptable cargo securement methods.
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
  • Ability to safely lift 50-70 pounds unassisted
  • Familiarity with National Safety Code driving rules and regulations would be an asset
  • Excellent organizationaland time management skills
