Walmart in Saint John, NB is hiring a Deli Bakery Associate to deliver exceptional customer service while keeping the Deli/Bakery area organized and well-stocked. You will zone the department, rotate stock, and ensure correct signage and pricing.

Responsibilities include preparing hot deli items and bakery products, adhering to cold chain and food-safety standards, and assisting with orders and display preparation. This is a performance-driven, fast-paced retail role in-store.

Position Summary

A Deli Bakery Associate provides exemplary customer service by adhering to the basic beliefs and values of Walmart, maintains and zones the Bakery and/or Deli area, and assists with stocking and the sale of goods.

What you'll do

• 1. Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organization and product is in the correct location
• 2. Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• 3. Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• 4. Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
• 5. Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance.
• 6. Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area.
• 7. Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• 8. Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
