ASSISTANT MANAGER / SHIFT LEAD

As an Assistant Manager at Military Deli & Bakery Services, you will have the opportunity to serve our nation’s Military personnel and their families at one of our 103 US Military Commissary locations. Our goal is to demonstrate a love for food and a passion for people while creating an excellent customer service experience for our military customers.

Job Description

• Assist the Deli / Bakery Manager in providing leadership by managing 5-10 employees.
• Maintain high customer service levels, meet commissary requirements, and maximize profits.
• Oversee and enforce Food Safety and Sanitation policies.
• Manage inventories by tracking reports and ordering supplies.
• Assist in scheduling, training, and delegating work to employees.
• Track inventories and work processes to calculate monthly profit.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment to meet health and safety standards.
• Develop professional communication with management to meet financial objectives.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and implement improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of activities.
• Promote a positive teamwork environment and perform staff duties as required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years grocery or food service experience.
• Previous shift lead or management experience is mandatory.
• Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodations.
• Open availability, including weekends and closing shifts.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid Food Safety Management Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
