Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking a Deli Associate in Sarnia, ON to deliver exceptional customer service, maintain the deli area, and assist with stocking and display of merchandise.

You will zone the department, rotate stock, ensure signage and pricing, and follow cold‑chain and food safety standards while preparing deli orders with slicers and rotisserie equipment. This is an on‑site role with a starting pay of $18.05 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 or older.
• Ability to operate deli equipment such as slicers, rotisserie ovens and deep fryers.

Responsibilities

• Zone the deli department and ensure proper signage and pricing.
• Rotate stock and check for expired products.
• Adhere to cold-chain standards, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording and general food safety practices.
• Take orders for deli merchandise and prepare items such as meat, cheese and fried chicken; assist customers.

What You'll Do

• Zones the department.
• Rotates stock and checking for expired products.
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell‑by dates, and expiration dates.
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; slicing and preparing merchandise, such as meat, cheese, fried chicken; and providing requested assistance.
• Provides assistance to the front end Associates with price checks.
• Prepares deli food orders, meat, cheese, and utilizing slicers ,stackers, and other utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven and deep fryer; and filling prepared salads and side dishes for placement into display area and specialty orders from Customers as required.
• Keeps the area neat, clean, and organized; free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and liquids.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $18.05.
