The Defence & Security Strategy Specialist will be responsible for researching and analyzing markets to comprehend trends and derive strategic recommendations. He/She will maintain awareness of industry changes and direction along with customer and competitive activities. The Strategy & Performance team is a highly energetic, fast paced team that prioritizes the engagement and growth of every team member while providing deliverables that shape the company’s future.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support D&S’ Strategic Planning Process, which includes the creation of D&S’ divisional 5-year Strategic Plan (forecasting and evaluation of complex data that drives company strategy) as well as region-specific Strategic Plan.

  • Research and analyze market, competitive and customer data to help develop D&S International and Canada annual 5-year Business Environment Assessment (BEA).

  • Research and analyze market intelligence to support strategic captures: Conduct market assessments and prepare analyses to provide insights to the Capture Team, Conduct competitive intelligence and prepare teaming analyses to identify potential competitors and gauge potential offerings, Lead and conduct Black Hat reviews, providing a deep dive into one or many competitors’ potential strategy and solution offerings.

  • Analyze industry white papers and reports to be able to create takeaways and company implications.

  • Track political budgets and activity as it pertains to International military markets.

  • Leverage D&S International and Canada’s pipeline activities in development of strategic recommendations and market analysis.

  • Serve as the point of contact for the Strategy group that includes representation support at shows/industry events.

  • Support key quarterly governance reporting activities including the Board of Directors report, and the D&S section of the Management Discussion & Analysis report, OKRs and various ad-hoc analyses and requests for COO & D&S Presidents.

    Required experience, skills & qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business-related field or equivalent experience is required.

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Salesforce.com or equivalent CRM experience.

  • Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) Tools.

  • Exhibit high performance and capability to work in a team environment;

  • Ability to operate successfully in a volatile and dynamic market environment;

  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in a DoD or Government environment, an asset.

  • Understanding of military protocols and customs, an asset.

  • PMP certification is an asset.
