Job description

Overview

The position of Deepwater Operator A entails overseeing the startup, operation, monitoring, and shutdown of process and utility systems. Responsibilities include troubleshooting to optimize sales quality and delivery volume, maintaining environmental compliance, conducting equipment testing and maintenance, and ensuring a safe work environment through risk assessments and communication. The role also involves maintaining records, witnessing calibrations, and fostering positive relationships.

Responsibilities
  1. Start up, operate, monitor, and shut down process and utility systems.
  2. Maintain and optimize process parameters such as level, flow, temperature, and pressure within operational requirements.
  3. Ensure sampling is conducted and results are acted upon appropriately.
  4. Troubleshoot to maximize sales quality and delivery volume, identifying problems proactively.
  5. Maintain discharge water quality within current SBMPC or local guidelines.
  6. Operate electrical/hydraulic control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices, fire and gas systems.
  7. Ensure accurate production reporting is submitted daily or as required.
  8. Witness third-party calibrations to verify meter factors and volumes.
  9. Prove export oil meters.
  10. Operate all activities in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
  11. Operate offshore production facilities according to customer requirements.
  12. Test, calibrate, maintain, and inspect equipment regularly.
  13. Complete mandatory paperwork for customers and government agencies.
  14. Coordinate logistics for the facility.
  15. Handle chemical treating and handling processes.
  16. Facilitate maintenance operations by applying/removing isolations as needed.
  17. Operate under PTW system, Toolbox Talks, and conduct Risk Assessments.
  18. Advise maintenance personnel on hazards associated with plant and equipment.
  19. Maintain clear and precise communication during maintenance activities.
  20. Manage activities of vendors and subcontractors.
  21. Create and sustain effective working relationships and a positive work culture.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required.
  • 4-6 years offshore experience as a production operator.
  • Good knowledge of permit to work procedures.
  • Medically fit to offshore international standards such as ENG1 or equivalent.
