Job description

At PwC, our deals team focuses on providing strategic advice and support to clients in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and restructuring. They help clients navigate complex transactions and maximize value in their business deals. In deal valuation at PwC, you will provide analysis and valuation services for mergers, acquisitions, and other financial transactions, helping clients make informed decisions by assessing the worth and potential risks of various deals. The ideal candidate will have experience and deep knowledge of complex financial instruments, capital markets, and business acumen.

Meaningful work you'll be part of

As a Deals Private Valuations & Complex Securities Director, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high-quality client service, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing valuation of complex securities such as private credits, venture capital, management equity plans, structured products, debentures with embedded derivatives, exotic options, commodity contracts, etc.
  • Leading valuation teams, coaching, supporting team development, and sharing technical knowledge across the PwC network.
  • Establishing credibility with clients by demonstrating subject matter expertise and knowledge.
  • Contributing to pursuit teams and proposal development with innovative approaches tailored to client requirements.
  • Leading business development efforts to grow the practice.

Experiences and skills you'll use to solve

  • Completed Master of Mathematical Finance (or equivalent) with a strong academic background in a quantitative or finance discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Financial Engineering, or related postgraduate degrees).
  • Successful completion of CFA, FRM, or PRM is an asset.
  • Experience in valuations, leveraged finance, banking, risk management.
  • Deep understanding of mathematical models used for pricing complex securities, private investments, and capital markets.
  • Strong commitment to client needs, networking, and community involvement.
  • Proactive, ownership of tasks, and responsibility for outcomes.
  • Experience in preparing and coordinating complex written and verbal materials.
  • Leadership experience supervising diverse teams, fostering trust, encouraging diverse views, and coaching staff.
  • Experience with programming languages like Python, R, Visual Basic, or SQL is an asset.
